Wind Power Center Opens Free To Military People This Summer Starting Memorial Day

Lubbock’s American Wind Power Center will be allowing free admission to the museum for active military people and their families beginning Memorial Day and continuing through Labor Day. Normal admission is a suggested five dollar donation per person or ten dollars per family. The free admission season is part of the launch of Blue Star Museums, a partnership involving the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and more than 1,300 museums across the country. Blue Star Museums is a program aimed at showing appreciation to military families for their service to the nation, and at the same time helping young people start on a path to become life-long museum goers. Lubbock’s American Wind Power Center is located at 1701 Canyon Lake Drive.
