Neugebauer Has Doubts About Budget Deal

“Well, I think the jury’s still out.”

That was the response from Congressman Randy Neugebauer on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, when asked whether Republicans were the big winners in the budget deal reached just in time to prevent a government shutdown.

“The way I considered that vote was [that it was] a vote to hit the pause button to give seven days for this agreement to be written, then brought back to the Congress for everyone to consider,” Neugebauer said.

Neugebauer said Republicans need to make sure they get the best deal possible, but…

“I’m just not sure…until I see exactly all the provisions of this, whether this is the best deal right now,” Neugebauer said.
