Neugebauer: Libya Is Not A Vital U.S. Interest

Over the weekend, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said Libya is not a vital national interest for the U.S, even though the U.S.  is involved in Libya militarily.

On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Congressman Randy Neugebauer was asked if he thinks Libya is a vital national interest for the U.S.

“I don’t,” Neugebauer said.  “Obviously we’ve had relationships with Libya, but that would not be a classification I would put them in.”

Neugebauer said the U.S. cannot afford to be the policeman for every similar conflict around the globe.
