Tech fails to earn spot in NCAA baseball tournament

Texas Tech’s baseball team has failed to make the NCAA’s 2010  tournament field of 64 for the sixth straight season. The Red Raiders had hoped to get an invitation based on having five straight Big 12 Conference series wins and a 14-7 record going into the break for final exams. But the Raiders won only two of their last nine games to finish the season with a record of 28 losses versus 29 victories. Earlier it was announced that Tech junior right-handed pitcher Chad Bettis and freshman first baseman Barrett Barnes were named to the all-tournament team for the Big 12 Championships.
