Lubbock suffered record heat yesterday. The temperature in the city hit 112 degrees, topping the previous record high for a June 26
of 111 set in 2004. The temperature yesterday at 4:24 p.m. was only two degrees short of Lubbock’s all-time record high for a day, 114 set on June 27
1994. Little relief from the heat is expected today. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high near 107. A heat advisory cautions people against extended outdoor exposure and physical activity which could led to heat cramps, heat exhaustion or sunstroke.
