A 35-year-old man is sentenced in a Lubbock court to serve seven years in prison for sexually assaulting a female family acquaintance in 2007. The girl was younger than 14 years old. District Judge Jim Bob Darnell ruled that George Salas Jr. must serve at least three and a half years before he can be eligible for parole. Salas pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated sexual assault of child. The judge set his punishment yesterday.
