Murder Charges Could Come This Week In Idalou Area’s Double Killings

Police say murder charges could be filed this week in last month’s double homicide near Idalou. 37 year old Casey Ledbetter and 28 year old Meredith Ledbetter have been named prime suspects in the killings of Derek Hale and his mother Joanie Parker. Authorities say the Ledbetters and the victims seem to have known each other for years. Parker’s body was found on property near Idalou May 24th. She had been shot three times. The son was originally was named a suspect of interest in his mother’s slaying but he was later found fatally bludgeoned and stabbed near the area where her body was discovered. The two people now named as suspects are currently jailed on unrelated charges. Casey Ledbetter is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm, the same type used to shoot Parker. The weapon is currently missing.
