Texas Tech’s Red Raiders fail to get an invitation to play in the NCAA tournament—much to the surprise of Coach Dan Spencer. Tech had finished with a won-lost record 33 and 25, including winning 12 conference games. Spencer said he’d been confident of Tech’s getting an NCAA bid, since no Big 12 team since 2005 that won at least 12 league games and had an overall winning record had been left out of the tournament. Neverthlees, the NCAA bids for the field of 64 teams announced yesterday left Tech out. Six other Big 12 Teams are in, including Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Kansas State.
