Deaf Professor Wins $500,000 Judgment Against Tech For Firing Him

A former Texas Tech professor who claimed he was fired because he’s deaf has been awarded a judgment against the university for more than 500,000 dollars. Michael Collier sued Tech for allegedly dismissing him without warning or explanation in violation of its own policies. Collier taught American Sign Language and other courses at  the university until he was fired in October 2006.
