Xcel Energy will be granting $211,000 to nonprofit groups in Texas and New Mexico.
Among the organizations receiving donations are the South Plains College Foundation in Levelland, Wayland Baptist University in Lubbock, the Amarillo Zoological Society, and Keep Roswell Beautiful in Roswell New Mexico.
The grants are made thorough the Education and Environment areas of the Xcel Energy Foundation.
Riley Hill, president and CEO of Southwestern Public Service Company, which is an Xcel company, said ““Communities that value education and the environment are healthy communities.
By supporting the nonprofits that promote these values, we hope to contribute to the overall health and prosperity of the communities we are privileged to serve.”
