A woman has died of third-degree burns suffered when she was set afire by her own son. As a result, an original charge of attempted murder against the son may now be upgraded to murder. Sixty-year-old Bertha Bradley died at University Medical Center yesterday morning. Police said the 33-year-old son George James Bradley III doused her with gasoline and set her on fire on May 9th. She escaped, and neighbors put out the flames. George Bradley was arrested later at Rise Academy, where he took a hostage and tried to assault her. He is now jailed in lieu of a 300,000 dollar bond.
