Disaster Exercise Is Conducted At Lubbock’s Airport

An airport disaster drill involving a host of local, state and federal agencies is scheduled to be conducted this morning at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.  The drill is conducted every three years to see how the airport would respond during an emergency.  Officials say the airport will be operating as usual during the exercise, with no disruption of regularly scheduled flights. Lubbock police, firemen and emergency services will be involved, along with units from Idalou and New Deal, plus officials from the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, airlines that use the airport, and others.
