Red Flag Warning Is Out As Critical Fire Conditions Develop

A Red Flag warning has been issued for Lubbock and the South Plains and the extreme southern Panhandle. The warning will be in effect from 1 this afternoon until 9 tonight. The National Weather Service is looking for critical fire weather conditions to develop especially for areas on the Llano Estacado. Very low relative humidity, gusty winds and extremely dry grasses across the area combine to create a high risk for the spread of wildfires.
