Two Midland Police on Administrative Leave After Shooting Suspect

Officers with the Midland Police Department Thursday shot and killed a man after responding to a domestic disturbance call.

The Midland Reporter Telegram reports that Officers Millie Pehl and James Rex responded to the call in the 5100 block of Ric Drive and were met by 34-year-old Christopher Brawley, who assaulted them with a 2-by-4.

Each officer fired shots at Brawley, who eventually died at the hospital due to critical chest wounds.

The officers suffered minor injuries and have been placed on administrative leave until Texas rangers release a report on the incident.
