Lubbock Firefighters Are Out Raising Money For Muscular Dystrophy Efforts

Lubbock firefighters are taking to the streets today to “Fill the Boot” for Jerry’s Kids.  Members of Professional Fire Fighters Local 972 will be conducting the charity campaign through Sunday to benefit the West Texas Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They’ll be collecting contributions from motorists at South Loop 289 and Slide Road, 50th Street and Indiana Avenue, 4th Street and North Loop 289, and 19th Street and University Avenue. Last year, the Lubbock firefighters raised nearly 65,000 dollars for the West Texas Muscular Dystrophy Association. Firefighters are the organization’s largest national sponsor.
