Red Flag Warning Still Out After Thunderstorms Sweep Area

Thunderstorms rolled through the Lubbock area and other portions of the South Plains early today, dumping heavy rain and dime-sized hail in some places. No major damage was reported. The precipitation lessened the danger of wild grassfires in places, but a Red Flag Warning remained in effect for the South Plains and extreme southern Panhandle.  The National Weather Service says the region has critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions supportive of dangerous wind-driven wildfires
