Some Lubbock ISD students will be having more classroom time under revised starting and closing hours next fall. For the new school year elementary students will report five minutes earlier than in the past and stay 20 minutes longer. That means the school day for students will be from 7:50 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. LISD’s Superintendent Dr. Karen Garza says the revised school times translate into two and a half hours of additional instruction each week for the students. And that, she says, will be good for everyone.
