Mission Medicine Program Takes Place Saturday Morning to Help Dispose of Old or Unneeded Medication

An event tomorrow will help seniors and their family members safely dispose of old or unneeded medications.

Mission Medicine is designed to help protect seniors from accidentally using expired medications, as well as safeguarding them from the potential for theft of medications from their homes.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency will be on-hand to oversee drop-off of the medications into a locked container.

The program will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Market Street at 50th Street and Indiana Avenue.

We collected from over 175 participants who were grafetful to have a way to dispose of old and unused potentially dangerous drugs in an environmentally friendly way. One sweet lady told me that her husband passed away 10 years ago and she didn’t know what to do with the old medications until handed them over to us on Saturday. Thanks to KFYO for helping us get the word out!
