Four persons including a father and son are dead after three Lubbock area highway accidents over the weekend… One person died and another was left seriously injured in a two-car collision in Lubbock around 11:57 p.m. Saturday night. Police said the accident involved a Chevy Malibu which collided with a Grand Marquis at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Cornell Street. The driver of the Grand Marquis, 45-year-old Terry Hendricks, was taken to UMC and pronounced dead. A person in the Malibu was taken to Covenant hospital with serious injuries… A father and son were killed in a rollover Saturday evening near Lubbock County Road 2700 and County Road 5700, just outside New Deal. State troopers said 59-year-old Victor Briones lost control driving west on 5700, over-corrected, and the vehicle rolled. He and his 8-year-old son Elias were pronounced dead at the scene around 6 p.m. Saturday. Both had been ejected from the vehicle. Neither was wearing a seat belt… A Buffalo Springs man died when he lost control of his motorcycle after it struck a sign around 3 a.m. Saturday. Police say 62-year-old Perry Lynn Stephens was driving on a ramp from the Marsha Sharp Freeway when he hit the sign and plunged onto an exit of West Loop 289.
