A father at Hobbs who was sought on child abuse charges has turned himself over to police in the eastern New Mexico city. Police had issued an arrest warrant for 44-year-old Randolph Breckon, saying he pointed a gun at his two young sons at home. Officer Mike Stone said the 8- and 12-year-old boys told school officials about the gun threats Friday. Breckon was jailed in lieu of a 20,000 dollar bond after reporting to police headquarters yesterday. The mother, 52-year-old Susan Breckon, was jailed Friday on felony child abuse charges for failing to intervene in her husband’s threatening act and for resisting arrest. The Breckons’ sons have been placed in the custody of New Mexico child welfare authorities.
