Landtroop Discusses Redistricting Plan

“In my mind, there’s not a good answer.”

That was the response from state rep. Jim Landtroop, on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, when asked why he thinks he and Charles Perry were placed in the same district, in a proposed redistricting plan.

Landtroop was asked whether he was being punished because he did not support Joe Straus for speaker of the house.

“I can’t say that because there are other areas in the state where people were paired that voted for him,” Landtroop said.  ” So I don’t know if that played into it or not.  It may have.  I don’t know.”

Landtroop said the redistricting plan unnecessarily harms West Texas.
