An Emergency Medical Technician whose ambulance was flagged down for a fatal motorcycle crash in Lubbock discovered that one of the victims was his own brother. EMT Chris Rivera came upon his injured brother, 29-year-old Jacob Rivera, while his ambulance partner went to the other victim, 25-year-old Shae Reed. Both died at the scene. Jacob Rivera had been driving the bike when he hit a curb at high speed and ran into a pole at Quaker Avenue and Fourth Street near the entrance to the Rawls Golf Course. The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. Both Rivera and his passenger were wearing helmets.
