Texas Tech led Texas one to nothing for seven innings but couldn’t maintain the advantage yesterday and went down to the number four Longhorns 3 to 1. Texas scored those three runs in the eighth. The victory gave Texas two of the three games in the series played at Disch-Falk Field. Tech is still on the road today and plays Texas State at 6:30 p.m. in San Marcos. In softball, 25th –ranked Texas Tech was held to one hit in losing to 19th-ranked Oklahoma State 7 to 1 at Stillwater. The Cowgirls recorded 14 strikeouts against the Red Raiders. The victory gave Oklahoma State a sweep of the series. The Red Raiders will be back at Rocky Johnson Field Friday to play number four Texas at the start of a two-game series. It will be Tech’s final home series of the year. First pitch Friday goes at 6 p.m.
