Man Jailed in Midland for Setting an Area Fire Which Resulted in Injury to a Firefighter

A man is in the Midland County Jail after being charged with setting a fire which resulted in the injury to a firefighter.

27-year-old Hobbs, New Mexico native James William Roberson is believed to have set a fire just before 3 p.m. yesterday at South County Road 1200 and West County Road 150 in Midland County, according to the Midland Reporter-Telegram.

33-year-old Harland Wayne Dizmang was injured in a wreck while responding to the fire. Dizmang was treated for minor injuries and released. The fire burned about 50 acres Thursday.

Roberson has been charged with the first degree felony of arson causing injury to a firefighter. Bond has not been set.
