“Texas is doing well.”
That was the reaction from Tom Pauken, the chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission, when asked about the Texas economy. Pauken also said the Obama Administration is going in the wrong direction.
“The problem is no matter how well we do, if the ship is sinking, we may be the last one to stand, but we’re going to sink with it,” Pauken said. “So that’s why we need to change national economic policy. I’m in favor or totally eliminating the corporate income tax and replacing it with a revenue neutral 8% business consumption tax. I think that will bring jobs home to America.”
Pauken was in Lubbock to recognize outstanding employers in the area.
