A 71 year old Missouri man wanted for the shooting death of his wife in Colorado has been arrested in Bailey County.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Game Warden Lance May pulled over Richard Stewart for erratic driving near Littlefield yesterday.
A check of Stewart’s license plates showed that he had a warrant issued for assault in North Carolina.
May observed that Stewart appeared to be in poor health and called an ambulance.
Stewart was taken to Lamb County Health Care Center before being transferred to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Shortly after calling the ambulance, the game warden received notice of an arrest warrant for murder issued for Richard Stewart.
Stewart has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his 71 year old wife Norma Stewart in Westminster, Colorado.
He is currently under guard at UMC.
