Tech Health Sciences Center Receives Large Grant For Cancer Research

Texas Tech’s Health Sciences Center has received a hefty grant award from a state group dedicated to fighting cancer.

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas formally approved a nearly $2.9 million grant to the HSC, as well as grants to 22 cancer research facilities around the state, totaling $116 million.

CPRIT plans to give out $216 million total in 2011 to support groundbreaking cancer research across Texas.
