Man Pleads Guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter, Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

A Lubbock man will spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty to hitting a motorcyclist while drunk last May.

Manuel Martinez pleaded guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter in a Lubbock courtroom Thursday, and agreed to serve 10 years in prison and pay $4,500 dollars restitution for hitting 39-year-old Ricky Parks at 4th Street and Milwaukee Avenue.

Martinez ran a red light while intoxicated, and Parks died at an area hospital a short time after the wreck.

Most pleas are false and only given pertaining to a possible earlier outcome and are totally not reliable pertaining to the facts or guilt in a case. Documented, proven, case closed.
