Afternoon Wildfire Risks Are Expected In Western South Plains

Wildfire dangers are expected to develop this afternoon in the western South Plains and extreme southwest Panhandle. The National Weather Service says a dryline will surge east today and stall along a line from Tulia to Levelland to Denver City, causing very warm, dry and windy conditions west of the line. A Red Flag warning is in effect for that area from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today.
