Lady Raiders Are Back: Tech’s NCAA Tournament Game Is Saturday

Texas Tech’s Lady Raiders are returning to the NCAA Women’s Championship tournament after a five-year absence. Coach Kristy Curry’s team learned they had been invited to compete in the tournament last night when the NCAA Women’s Basketball Selection Committee announced its field of 64 teams on ESPN. The Lady Raiders have been designated the number eighth seed in the tournament’s Spokane Washington Region. This Saturday they’ll be in Stanford, California to play the number nine seed, St. John’s of the Big East Conference. That game, starting at 3 p.m. , will be shown on ESPN2. A victory on Saturday would advance Tech to a Monday night game against the winner of a first-round game between top-seed Stanford and 16th seeded UC Davis.
