Two Earthquakes So Far in Snyder This Month

For the second time this month and the fifth time in just over a year, an earthquake was detected by the USGS in the Snyder area.

Yesterday’s earthquake hit at 3:16pm and was measured with a magnitude of 3.8.

It was located 16 miles northeast of Snyder, or about 74 miles southeast of Lubbock.

The other earthquake that struck the Snyder area this month, took place on March 1.

It was a weaker earthquake, with a magnitude of 2.5, that struck 9 miles northeast of Snyder.
