Lubbock Court House Ups Security

Security will become stricter at the Lubbock County Courthouse next week.

Beginning Monday, The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office will begin screening at the only two entrances open to the general public, Sheriff Kelly Rowe announced today.

Those entering the courthouse will be required to empty their pockets into a plastic container and place carried items on a scanner, and then pass through a metal detector.

Some of the prohibited items include firearms, nail clippers, mace, or any object which could be constructed into a potential weapon.

Those found with prohibited items will be required to return them to their vehicle.
