LPD Police Chief Retires

Lubbock Police Chief Dale Holton announced his retirement today after 37 years with the department.

His retirement will become effective February 28th.

City Manager Lee Ann Dumbauld will appoint current assistant police chief Rodger Ellis to fill his place.

Ellis has been with the department for 27 years and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

He will be confirmed and sworn in during the February 24th City Council Meeting.
