A ribbon cutting is planned next month for the opening of the Buddy & Maria Elena Holly Plaza and the newly renovated Fine Arts Gallery of the Buddy Holly Center. The gallery is housed in Lubbock’s historic railway depot. Directly west of the depot, across Crickets Avenue, is the new Buddy & Maria Elena Holly Plaza. The West Texas Walk of Fame is to be relocated to the plaza, along with the familiar statue of Holly. The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place at the plaza at 4 p.m. on May 9th, a Monday.
