Neugebauer on Tuscon Shooting: It Could Happen Anywhere

“A tragic day for our country…”

That was the reaction from Congressman Randy Neugebauer on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO , discussing the shooting Saturday at a Tuscon supermarket that killed six people,  including a federal judge, and injured 14 others, including a congressional colleague.

Ironically, Neugebauer was doing some grocery shopping when he learned about the shooting.  On KFYO,  Neugebauer talked about what might happen to make sure members of Congress are safe in their districts.

“I think what’s going to happen now is that the sergeant of arms, the FBI and other law enforcement are going to do an assessment of security procedures for members in the district,” Neugebauer said.

Neugebauer said a shooting like the one in Tucson could happen anywhere.
