Long-serving judge Rod Shaw is dead at 87

A man who had served as a Lubbock County judge longer than any other to sit on the bench has died at age 87. Rod Shaw succumbed Monday after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was Lubbock County judge for 26 years from 1964 to 1990. During his long career Shaw also served as president of the West Texas County Judges and Commissioners Association and president of the South Plains Association of Governments.
