Officials say two teens caught setting one fire confess to others

Two 15-year-old Lubbock boys are in jail after fire investigators reported seeing them set a fire yesterday in a neighborhood north of 19th Street between Slide Road and Chicago Avenue. Deputy Fire Marshall Robert Loveless said the boys’ actions were witnessed by fire marshals who had them under surveillance. The marshals intercepted the pair fleeing from the scene. Loveless said both confessed to setting several other fires over the past two months. They face several counts of second degree felony arson, a charge which can carry a penalty of two to 20 years in prison.
