Perry Comes To Lubbock To Sign Books

On Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, Governor Rick Perry talked about his book Fed Up, with emphasis on the 10th Amendment.

“The powers that the Constitution gave to the centralized federal government were enumerated and limited, and to the states, they gave the power,” Perry said.  “So if it’s not clearly designated in the Constitution, they’re not supposed to be telling us how to deliver health care to our people in the states, they’re not supposed to be telling us now to educate  our children, they’re not supposed to be telling us how to build transportation infrastructure.”

Perry said, over the last century,  Washington has taken liberties away from the states, centralized them in Washington, and that’s the reason the nation is economically  stressed today.

At 5:30 this afternoon (Thursday) Perry will be at Hastings on 50th Street here in Lubbock to sign copies of his book.
