Morton’s Coach Rives makes bond in student injury case

Morton high school’s football coach and athletic director is free on bond after turning himself in to authorities in response to charges that he injured two middle school students.  Don Rives posted 10,000 dollars bond yesterday. The school district placed Rives on administrative leave last Monday pending the outcome of the case. If found guilty, Rives could be sentenced to 2 and 10 years in prison on each count.  Rives is a former Texas Tech football star who was inducted into Tech’s Hall of Fame in 2006. He played pro ball for six years with the Chicago Bears.
