Lubbock grand jury hands down murder indictments

A 60-year-old woman has been indicted on murder charges in connection with a death that occurred just over a year ago. The body of 48-year-old Paul Allen Brown was found in his pickup outside of the Boulders at Lakeridge Apartments near 82nd and Quaker on November 18th, 2009. An autopsy revealed that he died from blunt force trauma to the head. Yesterday a grand jury indicted Carol Nusbaum  on murder charges in the case.  Her role in the death was not immediately disclosed.  The Lubbock County grand jury handed down other criminal indictments yesterday. Twenty-two year-old Joshua Anthony Valdez is accused of killing his 48-year-old father, Henry Valdez, on October 10th. A family member found the father dead on a couch outside the residence in the 9600 block of Boston Avenue. Another indictment accuses 25-year-old Raymond Garcia in a September street crash that fatally injured 26-year-old Deborah Mota. She died after falling off the hood of the car Garcia was driving after leaving the Oyster Bar at 608 28th Street.
