Hobbs looks to upgrade airport preparing for direct flights to Houston

The airport at Hobbs New Mexico is planning to upgrade things before  Continental Airlines begins flights between Hobbs and Houston. The manager of the Lea County Airport says the airport needs to improve perimeter fencing, update striping and signs on runways and taxiways and assess any wildlife threats around the airport. But he says the airport runways are capable of handling the 95-foot  jetliner that Continental plans to use on direct flights from Hobbs to Houston starting next March.
