Cold front sweeps South Plains with frigid winds

A cold front pushing in with frigid winds dropped temperatures sharply on the South Plains early today. Dimmitt and Friona had 32 degree temperatures at dawn. Lubbock’s mercury held above the freezing point.  The Amarillo area recorded temperatures in the 20s.
