Citibus Savings Greater Than Expected

Citibus one year ago began using more energy efficient buses in an effort to save the city some money.

KMAC 28 is reporting that the projected savings of $40,000 a year were incorrect…The new busses have saved over $75,000 over the past year.

Officials say they are taking advantage of these savings by keeping rates the same, using a lower budget, and having the buses run longer routs.

They also plan to purchase two more buses totaling $1 million using federal grants.
