Floyd County will house inmates in new Lubbock County jail

The Lubbock County Commissioners Court has approved a contract allowing Floyd County to house its inmates in the new Lubbock County Jail. The contract requires Floyd County to pay Lubbock County 38 dollars each day an inmate is housed, which is the norm for West Texas counties. That charge will cover inmate care, and offers no profit to Lubbock County.
