Charles Perry Prepares Voter ID Bill

During the last legislative session, legislation that would require voters to show a photo ID in order to vote were controversial, and it’s a topic that will be considered again next year.

Even before his election as state rep was official, Charles Perry was preparing bills to be considered when the legislature convenes next year,  including a voter ID bill.  With more Republicans in the legislature next year, Perry believes a voter ID will pass.

“I think it will,” Perry told KFYO.  “I really believe that we’ve got an opportunity to get some of this stuff done with the switchover to the majority.  It’s going to be a good session.”

Other bills being prepared by Perry include bills dealing with franchise tax reform, zero based budgeting and how much non-citizens should pay for college tuition.
