Charles Perry, who will replace Delwin Jones in the legislature in January, told KFYO why he would support state rep Warren Chisum of Pampa for speaker of the House, instead of the current speaker, Joe Straus.
‘If Warren were to get out there and show the capacity to win that — and I think he will — I think he’s going to get out there and have that capacity…he’s from this area, he’s rural, and he brings a lot of experience to the table…I’d have to go with Warren on that,” Perry said.
Perry said Straus is a good speaker of the house, but he sometimes compromises on conservative values.
