Police will check medical records of driver involved in fatal 1-27 wreck

Police will seek a subpoena for medical records of a hospitalized driver who was involved in an I-27 collision which killed a detention officer at the new Lubbock County Jail. Officers did not say whether 40-year-old Kellie Anne Lewis had been drinking but KAMC-28 said Lewis had been arrested for DWI three times in the past. Killed in the Saturday morning collision was 36-year-old Tommy Lamkin. According to police, Lewis was driving north on I-27 when she crossed the median and hit Lampkin’s vehicle.  Lamkin had started work at the new jail in May.
