Second-grader gets suspension over toy gun at school

A second-grade student is back in class after being suspended three days for bringing a toy gun to school. LISD police chief Mark Hinshaw said the toy was made of clear plastic and had orange markings. Hinshaw said LISD takes such incidents seriously. KAMC-28 quoted LISD administrators as saying they think the boy brought the toy to school by accident but it still violated the school code of conduct. Youngsters are prohibited from bringing anything to school that resembles a gun or anything else that could be considered a weapon.

I’m glad that someone was able to come to their senses. The school administrators should themselves be sentenced to take a course in how to respond to ‘gray area issues’.
