Monterey High student involved in assault on teacher

Lubbock police took a Monterey High School girl to the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center last week after she reportedly assaulted a teacher. The incident occurred when the teacher intervened in a confrontation between students in a hallway. The teacher, a 43-year-old woman, was hit several times on her shoulders and arms at noon last Wednesday. The teacher declined medical attention.
