Former Tech president Schmidly recovering from surgery in New Mexico

The University of New Mexico’s executive vice president for Health Sciences, Dr. Paul Roth, is in charge of the school until president David Schmidly fully recovers from a small abdominal tumor. Schmidly says he expects to return as soon as he’s given full medical clearance. Schmidly was formerly president at Texas Tech University.
